Terms of Service

By creating an account on ChessPD or using any feature of the platform you agree to these terms in full. Read them once - they are short and written in plain English.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account on ChessPD, signing in via Google OAuth, or using any feature of the platform, you agree to these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use the platform.

These terms are a binding contract between you (the individual or organisation accessing the platform) and Sai Tarun, sole proprietor, operating under the name ChessPD in India.

2. Eligibility and account

You must be at least eighteen years old to create an account. If you create an account on behalf of a chess club, academy, federation, or other organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for every activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the platform, attempt to circumvent rate limits or authentication, or use the platform to harm any third party. In every case we will state the reason in writing.

3. Service description

ChessPD is a software-as-a-service tool that helps a tournament arbiter or organiser compute prize distributions for chess tournaments held under FIDE / AICF rules. The platform reads a player roster you supply, applies a prize-pool configuration you supply, runs an allocator (the core engine is FROZEN as of 14 May 2026 and is not modified between releases), and produces PDF / Excel exports of the resulting distribution.

Access is consumption-based. Each tournament event you create deducts one credit from your wallet at the moment you publish results. Credits are purchased in bundle packs of 1, 2, 4, 6, 12, 18, or 24 events, each with a fixed validity window. The full pricing is published at /pricing.

4. Payment terms

Payment is collected via manual UPI transfer at the moment of purchase. You initiate a UPI payment to the receiving account displayed on the checkout page, upload a screenshot of the transaction, and submit the order. A super-admin verifies the screenshot manually and either approves the order (which credits the bundle pack to your wallet) or rejects it with a stated reason.

All prices are in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of GST where applicable. We issue a GST invoice on request to any GSTIN-bearing buyer.

All sales are final. See the dedicated Refund Policy at /refund-policy for the full rules. Credits not used before the bundle pack's validity window ends are forfeited; we send T-30 / T-7 / T-1 reminder emails so unused credits never expire silently.

We do not store your bank account, credit card, or UPI credentials. The only payment data we retain is the transaction id you supply, the screenshot you upload, the amount, and the order metadata.

5. Coupons and promotional discounts

ChessPD may issue discount coupons from time to time. Each coupon carries an admin-defined window, a maximum total redemption count, and a maximum per-user redemption count. Coupons can be removed before you submit payment but cannot be applied after an order has moved to verification.

We reserve the right to deactivate a coupon at any time without notice. Coupons cannot be combined, transferred, or exchanged for cash, and applying a coupon does not entitle you to a price-match if the coupon is later increased.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the platform only for its intended purpose: computing prize distributions for chess tournaments and managing the related workspace.

You must not: (a) attempt to access another user's account or workspace; (b) probe, scan, or otherwise test the security of any system without our prior written consent; (c) submit player data that you do not have a lawful basis to process; (d) attempt to reverse-engineer the allocator engine; (e) use the platform to send unsolicited bulk communications; (f) upload malware, viruses, or any code intended to harm the platform or its users; (g) misrepresent your identity at registration; or (h) use the platform to violate any applicable law.

We may remove content (uploaded XLSX files, prize configurations, results) that violate these rules. We will notify you when we do so.

7. Your content and your data

You retain full ownership of every file you upload (player rosters, prize configurations, generated results). We claim no ownership over your data and we do not use it to train any model.

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, time-limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the platform to you. This license ends when you delete the content or when your account is deleted, whichever is earlier.

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the DPDP Act 2023 statement, linked below.

8. Intellectual property

The ChessPD platform, its source code, the allocator engine, the visual design, the brand, and every page of marketing copy are the intellectual property of Sai Tarun and protected by Indian and international copyright law. No part of the platform may be copied, redistributed, or used to build a competing product without prior written consent.

Player names, tournament names, and federation acronyms (FIDE, AICF, and the like) belong to their respective owners and are used here only to identify the relevant entities.

9. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, we disclaim every warranty, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that the prize-distribution output will be identical to any external software you may compare it against; the output is a function of the algorithm in the FROZEN engine, the player data you upload, and the prize-pool configuration you supply.

We are not responsible for any tournament-management decision you make based on the platform's output. The arbiter, organiser, or federation remains the sole authority over prize awards.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the platform is capped at the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or one thousand Indian Rupees, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost goodwill, lost opportunity, or the cost of substitute services.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damage arising out of (a) your use of the platform in violation of these terms; (b) your upload of any content you did not have the right to upload; or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including the privacy or intellectual-property rights of any player whose data you upload.

12. Modifications

We may modify these terms when we ship new features that change the contract surface area or when Indian law changes. We will notify every active user by email at least seven days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the change date constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from /account/security. Account deletion removes all personal data tied to your account within thirty days, except for statutorily required financial records.

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. In every case, we will state the reason in writing and give you fourteen days to remediate the violation before any account deletion is finalised, unless the violation is severe enough to warrant immediate action (for example, attempted fraud or attempted account takeover).

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the platform is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

15. Contact

For any question about these terms, write to support@chesspd.com or use the contact form linked below.
